About Emotional Eating and Weight Loss

Emotional eating is a very common issue.

Emotional eating is the use of food to soothe our emotions and feelings. We often learn patterns of emotional eating from childhood experiences. We fall off our bike and get handed a cookie. We have a breakup and someone gives us ice cream. The truth is that sad doesn't equal cookie and cookie doesn't equal sad. Food is our fuel, not an escape from feeling emotions.
