The sleeve gastrectomy reduces your stomach to about the size and shape of a banana. The remaining stomach may hold between 2-5 ounces. The portion of the stomach that is removed produces the hunger hormone, Ghrelin. Following surgery, your hunger will be much less becasue the levels of this hormone are reduced.
